Melissi Multimedia Ltd. was established to fulfil an existing need. The company was formed by people who have worked in higher education language teaching environments for many years. Between them they have expertise in teaching, technical and resources aspects as well as Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). |

The company was first contracted by the University of Hull to implement a state-of-the-art digital laboratory, or "digital classroom", which included full provisions for the use of audio and video materials. Melissi commissioned Jim Hawkins, a programmer with extensive experience in this field, who is also a language teacher, to research and develop the system. Melissi Multimedia Ltd. is an independent company and as such is flexible and able to adapt its products to fit the needs of customers. The initiative for this development comes from within the education community, and is based on shared experience and needs. Melissi Multimedia Ltd. has installations in universities both old and new, EFL departments, sixth form colleges, City Technology colleges and UK Ministry of Defence departments. Manyl have chosen to make repeat purchases. Educational institutions in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan and the USA have also joined the Melissi family. |
