Key Features
VIS uses the powerful MIPS (Melissi IP Speech) unit to provide multichannel emulation of a conference interpreting system, and it is very flexible. These are some possible configurations for a session:
Tutor (or guest) is main speaker on channel 1. Student on channel 2 interprets. Other students can listen to the source and target in real time.
As above, but other target languages are interpreted on channels 3,4,5 etc. Listeners can select their listening channels.
Speaker A is Greek. Interpreter B interprets into German. Interpreter C interprets into Dutch. Listeners can select their language.
Up to six speakers are conducting a seminar. Interpreter X can monitor the seminar and interpret into a target language.
Sessions can be recorded for review.
Individual channel listening levels can be set by users. For example, I might want the source at low level and the target higher. This is easily set in real time.
The VIS emulator is an optional extra, requiring a release key. Please contact us for details.
